Dog-friendly large cottage
Walks straight from the gate. A working farm with land that already handles dogs the way working land does.
One well-behaved dog is welcome, no fee. A second dog by prior arrangement. Ground floor is the dog’s working space: kitchen, snug with wood-burning stove, boot room with slate floor that handles mud, downstairs WC. Hose by the back door for the post-walk rinse.
The two-acre paddock by the house is fenced and secure for off-lead time. The cattle field is the other side of a stock fence: visible, but separate. For field walks beyond the paddock, the leash stays on.
The Forest of Mortimer is south, a short drive away. Bringewood Forge is west. Whitcliffe Common above Ludlow is fifteen minutes by car. Each gives a different kind of day.
Ludlow is one of the more dog-friendly market towns in the West Midlands. Most of the pubs welcome dogs in the bar. The Charlton Arms by Ludford Bridge, the Globe Inn, and the Wheatsheaf all carry water bowls without asking. The river walk under Ludford Bridge is dog-friendly too.
The Ludlow Food Centre at Bromfield, and D W Wall & Son on the Bull Ring, are both reliable for a polite mid-morning visit with a Labrador.
One dog included. Second by prior arrangement. The Journal piece covers the broader picture. Check availability and rate via the booking section.
